Swallows Wall Decor

Hi everyone, if you follow me on instagram, you might already know that I was painting something last week.
Well that project is finally finished and today's post is about sharing with you the finished look, steps and resources if you want to recreate the same decoration.

I've painted this for my sister's room, she wanted silhouettes of birds flying and we decided on swallows on a blue background.

The first step was to find swallow images and silhouettes and assemble them all together in different sizes and positions.

If you want to recreate this I've uploaded the shapes onto my drive, click here to get them.

To make sure all the birds were in the same place as in the computer, I attributed numbers to each one off the 22 swallows.

After the wall was painted blue, I cut and taped the shapes onto the planned places according to the numbers. I actually ended up changing 1 or 2 birds from place.

The next step was to trace the shapes onto the wall and after that, it was paint brush in hand and paint paint paint..

  2. I love this! I am attempting to do the same for my wall.
Do you have the swallows saved as printables in the size you used for your sister's wall? The link only brings up a one-page print-out that looks like the black and white image you have attached.

  11. i love this idea so much. but how do you make the birds look so big on the wall? the link to the birds is just the size of a piece of paper, might be stupid question but how do you make them bigger so that it takes up half the wall?

    ReplyDelete
  12. You have to print each bird in a separate piece of paper, the file is in editable pdf, so you can adapt the size of the birds to your needs.
Ps: try opening the file in a photo editing or vector software.

    I hope this helps,
    Thanks for commenting.
