DIY Draped Bow Scrunchies

Olá everyone. Recently I’ve been stumbling upon these adorable draped bow scrunchies from a couple of stores like urban outfitters and free people.

They are the perfect project to use the scraps of fabric that I always feel super bad throwing away, they are still big enough to make something but it has to be pretty small, even if you don't have enough for the bow, you can just make the scrunchie bit.

DIY Round Macramé Boho Costers

Every time I find some craft idea that I want to try, I can’t seem to rest until I figure out how to make it, these coasters were the perfect example of that, I had done macramé bracelets before but making a round macramé was foreign to me. After exploring the internet after ways to create it, finding some confusing posts, and making my first coaster, I decided to make a video teaching how to make one as well. This is the way that I found easiest (though there is another one that I also tested) and also got me the prettiest result.

Supplies:
  • 3 mm cotton cord
  • Something to hold the cords, either tape or as I used, a cork coaster or board.
  • Pins to hold if you use cork
  • Fabric Scissors
  • Ruler or measuring tape
  • Comb

How to Gather Fabric for Ruffles and Skirts

A couple of months ago I wanted to make a dress with a gathered skirt, and since I'm a super newbie to sewing I had to ask my grandma how could I create that pretty ruffled effect. Although I've since realized there are a ton of online tutorials and posts on how to do it, I had never, until that time, come across one.

This is basically the backstory why I made this short tutorial, I wish I had come across something like it, quick and easy to understand, without having to watch a 10-minute video.

DIY Summer Hairstyle: Scarf French Braid

Thinking about festival season? Or just fresh beachy outfits in general? This hairstyle is the perfect combo to your summer outfits. It's easy enough to pull off, since it's basically just a french braid with an added scarf and works great for both curly and straight hair. Depending on your hair length, you might need a longer or shorter scarf, mine had a bit of excess length, so I was able to tie it at the end which ended up adding a more boho look to it.

Learn how to make it by watching the video below.

Learn How to Make a 4 Strand Round Braid and Create These Braided Leather Friendship Bracelets - Curly Made #diy #crafts #bracelets

Hey everyone.
I think I've mentioned this before but, bracelets keep being one of my favorite crafts, along with recycling. It's such a simple thing to give as a gift and usually, they don't take that much time to make. That's actually why I learned how to make this 4 strand round braid style, a friend asked me for a leather bracelet and since I could not find something quite right, I decided to braid the cords myself.

DIY Recycled Christmas Photo Display

Have you put up your holiday decorations yet? This recycled photo/card display is a great option if you are still looking for ideas. It will likely cost you no money if you already have tape and spray paint at home. You can make it as big as you want depending on the size of your cardboard or even with other shapes, perhaps a square for Christmas card display?

DIY Recycled Wine Cork Geometric Earrings

Upcycling wise, wine corks are one of the easiest materials to work with, they are easy to cut, lightweight and work great as jewelry pieces. I particularly like using them to make earrings, since corks are so light, the earrings made from it are super comfortable to wear all day round.

So here's how I made this recycled pair of jewelry:

DIY 3 Colorful Room Decor Items

It has been a while since I've made a home decor item, and there was an empty frame on my wall that definitely needed an artwork, so this was the perfect excuse to create this set of small and colorful home items. I ended up creating the so much needed artwork for the frame and two other items: a set of coiled paper jewelry dishes and a jar photo display. These are ideal if you're decorating on a budget, all of them cost me almost zero, except for the balloons and wooden skewers, which I just picked up from the supermarket and were pretty cheap.
The step-by-step photos are all stills from the detailed video of this project and if you would rather watch moving images you can watch that below.

DIY 5 Styles of Hair Tie Bracelets | Friendship Bracelets

This season I've been seeing some stores sell this sort of mix between a bracelet and a hair tie that I find super handy. Not only looks good as a bracelet but it's also functional.

So following this trend I created this set of different styles that you can try, all of them very easy to make.
These are also really cute to make with your best friend as a friendship bracelet or make a complete set to give as a gift.

Watch the video bellow for step-by-step instructions and all the supplies are listed bellow it.

DIY Speech Bubble Dry Erase Board

This DIY came pretty much out of nowhere, I had this idea that I wanted to try and tried to figure, out of the supplies I had in home, what would work for this. I actually had some trouble with the "dry erase" part of the board, because the contact paper I had, did not let erase the marker, it absorbed the paint slightly, so you will see I had to use something on top of that for the board to work.

Materials: A big piece of cardboard | x-acto | scissors | white contact paper | clear plastic | electrical tape | two magnets | D-ring | glue

DIY Upcycled Cement Vase Using a Plastic Bottle

Cement DIYs have been super on trend for a while, but somehow I haven't got to make anything with this material before. I actually found it surprisingly easy and inexpensive, making the mold out of cardboard is free and the pack of cement, for me was less than 3€.
The only bummer is the drying time, this piece took me a whole week to dry, but I think that might be different depending on the mixture of concrete you get.

Materials: Cement | Water | Mixing Bowl | Plastic Bottle | Iron | Cardboard box | Acrylic Paints | Paintbrush | Painters Tape | Scissors | Sanding Paper

DIY Watercolor Bookish Quote

How to make a watercolor calligraphy bookish quote

“A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies, said Jojen. The man who never reads lives only one.”
― George R.R. Martin, A Dance with Dragons

It was my best friend Bianca's birthday this week, and honestly, I can't even remember all the presents I've made her over the years, though, most of them I know have been jewelry related. This year I went for a decorative piece, a watercolor with her favorite colors and a bookish quote that she can hang near her bookshelves.

I was not intending to make a video out of this, but I had a hard drive problem, and lost the DIY I was editing, wich sucks, so to at least make up for it and keep the creative juices going, I ended up making kind of a quick vlog of the process.

DIY Beaded Hair Comb

Hair combs are such a classic accessory piece, which asides from bridal headpieces I don’t see often, especially in stores here in Portugal, that’s why I decided to try and make a modernized everyday
wear version.

DIY 2 Styles of Slave Bracelets

Usually, Slave Bracelets are more of a summer festival accessory pairing with a boho gipsy vibe, but it's September now and who said these could not be turned into something autumn and winter appropriate? Grab your darker coloured beads, chain and pliers and let's get crafting.

1st BRACELET

1. Measure your hand, lay it flat on the table and measure from your knuckle and around the finger, from the knuckle until slightly above the wrist bone and around the wrist. A trick to make it easier is to tape washi tape to your hand and use it as a guide to cut the chain.

Keep in mind that the measurements will be different depending on the style of bracelet.

2. To make the beaded part, if you are using headpins (you can also use wire) , cut the cap on the end, and create a loop instead. To do that, first bend the pin in a 90º angle and then use a plier to twist the end and create the loop. Choose the combination of beads you want to use and add that to the pin. Cut the excess and close it by creating another loop.

3. On the tape with the finger to wrist measurement, in the centre, mark the length of the beads. Since you'll also need to add a clasp mark the size of it on the tape as well.

4. Cut the rest of the chain, using the tape as a guide and put all the pieces together.

5. Try it on to see how it fits, and remove some of the chain links if necessary.

It makes it harder to attach but, I prefer the look of the bracelet without the jump rings so I removed them and attached the pieces again.

2nd BRACELET

1. Fill the bottom of a metal charm with glitter, add a drop of transparent glue or nail polish to the cover and glue it on top of the glitter. Let it dry.

2. Measure your hand using the washi tape trick, for this bracelet, the chain that goes around the finger will connect with the charm at the centre of your hand, so make sure to adapt the measurements.

3. Cut the chain using the tape as a guide and remember to remove a bit of tape from the wrist part to fit the clasp.

4. Attach the pieces together using jump rings or just the chain, and add the clasp as well. Try it on to see how if fits and adjust if necessary.

5. Lay the bracelet on the table and cut two new pieces of chain measuring from the charm to each side of the closure part. Attach them to the previous piece.

DIY Evil Eye Macramé Friendship Bracelets

You asked for it, so here it is. Even though it took a while, today's DIY is a macramé friendship bracelet.
These types of macramé bracelets are perfect to wear during the summer, mostly because they don't get ruined with water or sand, and also because they are super light, no one wants bulky jewelry on hot days.
The video bellow has all the steps, and I hope is easy enough to follow, but if you have any doubts, leave them in the comments and I will do my best to help you out.

Materials:
3 pieces of waxed cotton cord with 80 cm, in whatever color you like (mine is the dark purple),
3 pieces of waxed cotton cord with 60 cm each ( my colors are blue, white and dark purple), glue, scissors and strong tape or a clipping board.

DIY Watercolor Pillowcase | Room Decor

I wanted to give a refreshed look to my not so pretty pillows without spending money and using supplies I already had at home, so I grabbed an old white sheet, some acrylic paints and after some tests I managed to recreate the watercolor effect that is such a big decor trend, on the cheap.

Materials:

3 Pieces of white fabric with 45x45 cm, 35x45 cm and 25x45 cm
(these measurements may depend on the size of your pillow)
Acrylic or fabric paints
Sewing machine, hot glue gun or needle and thread
Paintbrush
Water
Scissor

DIY Jar Necklaces + Supernatural Inspired

I've been wanting to make a supernatural inspired project for a while, not only because it's one of my favorite shows, well maybe that's the main reason why, but it also makes for a great themed jewelry.
While doing some tidying up of my supplies I also found the tall and skinny jar that I'm using for the salt necklace, sadly it was missing a lid, but I found an end cap on my local craft store that matches the size perfectly. Of course, I could not only make one necklace, so I also ended up making a glittery one.

If you made one of these what would you put inside?
